This winter (December 2024–January 2025), you may have the opportunity to get more out of your financial aid and benefits and accelerate your path toward a bachelor's degree or undergraduate certificate. University of Maryland Global Campus is offering a winter intersession to eligible students for a limited selection of undergraduate courses, which will be available fully online with limited hybrid course location options. Taking a course during this term may allow you to fully take advantage of your financial aid, military Tuition Assistance, and VA funding benefits.
If you meet one of the following criteria, you may be eligible for this opportunity:
- Returning students who are in good academic standing (not on warning or probation)
- New students who have at least 45 total posted transfer credits
Upcoming Winter Intersession Courses & Dates
The courses available during this term will be offered in a condensed, four-week session, beginning December 11, 2024 (the day after fall classes end) and ending January 7, 2025 (one day before spring classes begin).

Courses offered online and at specific hybrid locations:
- BEHS 103 — Offered online and at San Diego (CA) and Honolulu/Pearl City (HI)

- CMST 301 — Offered online and at National Landing (VA)

UMGC wants to make sure students are set up to succeed. Due to the condensed, four-week session, students can register for one course during the winter intersession.
You cannot self-register through your student portal. You must contact your advisor, success coach, or military education coordinator to enroll.
Because the winter intersession is offered in a condensed, four-week session (beginning December 7, 2024 and ending January 7, 2025), interested students should check to see if this fits their schedules.
