For University of Maryland Global Campus’s 75th anniversary, we spoke with Holly Hanisian from Goodwin Living about the organization’s alliance with UMGC. Thanks to the alliance, Goodwin Living employees can receive an affordable and accredited education at UMGC that can help them boost their careers.
What is your position with Goodwin Living?
I am the chief of staff for Goodwin Living.
How long has Goodwin Living had an education alliance with UMGC?
Approximately two years.
What attributes about UMGC made them a partner you wanted to work with?
UMGC has a great reputation and offers a wide range of degrees and certificates and flexible options for our staff.
UMGC recently introduced its new mission “Inspire hope, empower dreams, and transform lives ... one student at a time.” What does that mean to you?
At Goodwin Living, we want all our team members to meet the dreams that they have for themselves and their families. We believe strongly that education is the pathway to transforming lives and reaching one's dreams. We’re proud to be a partner to UMGC in fulfilling their mission.
How have your employees responded to the UMGC programs offered? How have the programs helped them and your company?
Our employees have taken advantage of UMGC to pursue various degrees and certificate programs, enhancing their own lives and providing necessary skills for our company.

UMGC’s long history shows that they are committed to their mission and their students.

Goodwin Living’s mission includes to support, honor and uplift the lives of the people who care for our residents—our staff. While all of UMGC’s core values are excellent, the “Students First” core value resonates with us as we partner with UMGC to enhance the lives of our staff.
Where do you hope to see UMGC in the next 75 years?
Continuing the legacy of supporting students in innovative ways that honor UMGC’s heritage of excellence and meets the needs of our diverse country.
