Author Biography

Kathleen Sobieralski earned a BS in accounting and business administration from Saint Mary's College (Notre Dame), an MBA from Indiana University (South Bend), and an MS in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame.

Sobieralski has more than 15 years of teaching experience and manages a curriculum of 21 undergraduate accounting and 14 graduate accounting courses for University of Maryland Global Campus. Her focus is on academic quality, policy, and the student experience.

Sobieralski is a longtime member of professional organizations, including the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, the American Accounting Association, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Association of Government Accountants (AGA). She is a founding member of UMGC's Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) student chapter, a past board member of the local AGA, and a current executive board member for the Washington, D.C., area IMA.
