At University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC), we’ve made it our mission to help working adults learn new skills and build new pathways in their careers. That’s why we’re proud to participate in Amazon’s Career Choice program. Thanks to the Career Choice program, eligible Amazon employees can pursue their higher education goals at UMGC while continuing in their current positions at Amazon.

And here’s the best part: Amazon will pay for tuition, fees, and books within the annual maximum limits. You will be responsible for paying any tuition costs above the annual maximum. Plus, you'll save $50 when you apply to UMGC as a new student with our application fee waiver.

We’re determined to make sure that there’s no limit to your learning, which is why you’ll be able to take advantage of the Career Choice program for as long as you’re employed by Amazon. Plus, recently-hired employees won’t have to wait long—you can begin to take advantage of these benefits after only 90 days of employment.

Fast-Track Your Degree with Transfer Credits

You may be able to accelerate your degree plan by earning credit for your previous coursework and more! Before you get started at UMGC, contact an advisor to see if you have coursework, training, or other previous experience that you can apply to your degree program.

Generous Transfer Credit Policy
We accept up to 90 transfer credits from all sources for undergraduate programs, including up to 70 credits from approved two-year schools and community colleges.
Community College Alliances
We have alliances with 16 Maryland public community colleges and more than 200 community colleges nationwide, making your transition easier than ever.
Multiple Sources of Credit
You may be able to earn credit for industry certifications in IT, cybersecurity, or business; workplace learning experiences; military education; standard exams; and more.
Career Choice Providers
We accept credits from alternative Career Choice providers like Springboard, who offers IT, data analytics, and cybersecurity career bootcamps at UMGC.

Apply for admission to UMGC: Complete the online application for admission. It typically takes about 10 minutes. Select "Amazon Career Choice" as your employer on the application form.

Complete your payment request: Within Career Choice, select the "College" track and "University of Maryland Global Campus" as your school. Complete your payment request each term. Please include your student ID number.

Speak to an advisor: Speak with a UMGC admissions advisor by calling 855-227-0928 and select the program that best matches your career goals.

Contact a success coach: Speak with your success coach to enroll in approved courses from your degree plan.
