Earn UMGC credits for MFRI coursework.

University of Maryland Global Campus and the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute provide you the opportunity to advance your education by earning a degree from UMGC. Through this alliance program, you can transfer credits you have already earned at MFRI toward an undergraduate program at UMGC.

Program Details

Through the MFRI-UMGC alliance, you can satisfy more than 25 percent of the requirements for a Bachelor of Science in public safety administration. If you prefer another degree path, you can also transfer your credits to one of UMGC's 30+ undergraduate programs, almost all of which are available entirely online. You may also transfer credits from other universities and/or be awarded credit for prior learning if eligible under UMGC's standard policies and procedures.

UMGC accepts up to 90 transfer credits from MFRI, work experience, other institutions, and military education and training.

To transfer credit from MFRI to UMGC, please obtain an ACE transcript and have it sent to UMGC.
