The Veterans Certification Office at University of Maryland Global Campus processes your enrollment certification for education benefits quickly and efficiently. After you've followed the steps to apply and registered for classes, you'll need to complete the Request for Certification Form through your online student account. You can also make changes to your benefits and monitor the processing of your benefits through your student account.
UMGC submits your enrollment certification to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to provide your dates of enrollment and number of credits for which you've enrolled. We certify to the VA that you are enrolled in an approved program and that you are taking courses that are required in that program and do not duplicate previous training.
If you're receiving Tuition Assistance and veterans education benefits, duplication of benefits may be an issue. VA benefits are not allowed when Tuition Assistance pays the full course tuition.
The Montgomery GI Bill® and Post-9/11 benefits may cover the difference between the cost of your course and the amount paid for the course through Tuition Assistance. Certification procedures vary depending on the benefit for which you're eligible.
