(Nov 1. 2016)―Join University of Maryland University College (UMUC) for “Interconnected and Unprotected: The Cybersecurity Dilemma,” a one-day symposium that brings together leading cybersecurity experts to provide insight into the challenges, concerns, solutions and new opportunities in this vast arena called "cyber." Hear from keynote speakers Deborah Frincke, Ph.D., Director of Research at the National Security Agency/Central Security Service, and David DeVries, newly appointed Chief Information Officer at the Office of Personnel Management. Paul Cunningham, Department of Energy’s Chief Information Security Officer, will moderate a diverse panel of cyber experts from the private and public sectors.

- Election Hacking: What is the likelihood that our upcoming election or future elections will be hacked and how do we ensure that election results represent the true intent of the voters?
- Internet of Things: What are the privacy and security implications of the Internet of Things (IoT) and how can businesses secure vulnerability and exploitation issues due to IoT?
- Cyber Careers: What trends are driving the industry? What jobs are in demand? How do we ensure we have a skilled workforce? What can students do to prepare? How do we do we increase the pool of qualified employees through security clearances?
