Adelphi, MD. (Feb. 15, 2023)—University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC), one of the most transfer-friendly universities in the nation, and the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), the nation’s largest leadership honor society with over 700 chapters and more than 1.5 million members, have announced a credit transfer agreement that will save NSLS members time and money toward earning their college degree.

Under the agreement, UMGC will accept transfer credit for certain NSLS courses offered through its education and professional development programs. An official transcript from the American Council on Education (ACE) or the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS) reflecting successful completion of courses must be submitted to UMGC.

“We are pleased to link up with NSLS, one of the premiere leadership honor societies in the country, to accelerate a path for high achievers to earn a degree or continue their education as life-long learners,” said Blakely Pomietto, senior vice president and chief academic officer at UMGC. “It’s a force multiplier when two organizations that share a strong commitment to cultivating leaders and promoting career-relevant life-long learning join together.”

"We know that every organization in the world now needs capabilities like leadership, digital skills, and analytics,” said Amy Westby, executive director for regulatory and government affairs at the NSLS. “We’re supporting this access and growth for students through the partnership with UMGC and the College Pathway Program, which is simply the best way to build leaders prepared for the careers of tomorrow and build capacity on campus."

UMGC offers award-winning online degree and certificate programs in disciplines including biotechnology, cybersecurity, data analytics, and information technology that are in high demand in today’s increasingly technical, global workplace. UMGC also offers cost savings through its use of digital resources, which have replaced costly publisher textbooks for most courses.

The university has an enrollment of more than 90,000 students, more than half of whom are active-duty military personnel and their families serving on military bases around the world.
