University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) and Jiffy Lube International, Inc., a leading provider of automotive preventive maintenance services across the U.S., are renewing an agreement that allows Jiffy Lube service center employees to take university courses at a discounted rate.

The collaboration covers more than 135 online degree and certificate programs.

“We are proud to be connected with Jiffy Lube through this long-standing alliance,” said Blakely Pomietto, UMGC’s senior vice president and chief academic officer. “This relationship has been an engine that continues to drive Jiffy Lube service center employees to achieve their educational goals and help them upskill faster and more efficiently.”

Jiffy Lube service center employees can receive up to 25 transfer credits for courses they have completed through Jiffy Lube University, the organization's proprietary training and development platform. Additionally, service center employees' spouses and dependents are also entitled to tuition discounts and waived application fees at UMGC.

Most Jiffy Lube service centers , with the exception of those owned and operated by one of Jiffy Lube International, Inc.'s subsidiaries, are independently owned and operated by a diverse range of local franchisees.

In addition, students enrolled at UMGC save money through the use of digital resources in place of costly publisher textbooks in most courses.
