Adelphi, MD (Jan. 29, 2025) – Dr. Calvin Nobles, portfolio vice president and dean of the School of Cybersecurity and Information Technology at University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) has been named to the Board of Directors of the Cybersecurity Association.
The selection by the association, formerly known as the Cybersecurity Association of Maryland (CAMI), solidifies UMGC’s standing as a trusted partner in shaping the future of cybersecurity. Nobles will serve a two-year term.
“This appointment highlights UMGC’s prominent role as a leader in cybersecurity education and underscores the institution’s unwavering dedication to fostering cyber talent, advancing leadership and driving innovation in cybersecurity,” said Nobles. “Moreover, it reflects our contributions to enhancing cyber resiliency and cultivating robust talent pipelines to address the growing demands of the cybersecurity workforce.”
Nobles joins an executive board that includes Chair Chuck Faughnan III, CEO of Personam.AI; Vice Chair Ted Pibil, senior government advisor at ePlus Technologies, Inc.; Treasurer Tina Kuhn, president of The Lanzar Group; Assistant Treasurer Jacqui Magnes, CEO of COMSO, Inc.; Secretary Sarah Woods, founder and president of VenturePotential; and Assistant Secretary Timothy Schilbach, CEO of Penacity, LLC.
The Cybersecurity Association Board of Directors, made up of 23 influential leaders in technology and cybersecurity, drives the organization’s initiatives to benefit its community of over 700 members and the broader regional cybersecurity landscape.
