If you have no prior coursework in statistics, you must take (3 Credits, STAT 200) (or equivalent) before taking (3 Credits, BIFS 613).

UMGC’s online graduate certificate in bioinformatics is a 15-credit program that can give you real-world experience in biology, computer science, and mathematics. You can learn from case studies about the challenges and opportunities real biotechnology companies have. Typically, the credits you earn in a graduate certificate program can later be applied to a related master's degree program.
UMGC's online graduate certificate in bioinformatics is a 15-credit program with courses offered year-round. You can expect to finish the program in one year or less, depending on how many credits you complete each term and the number of credits you may be able to transfer.
