At University of Maryland Global Campus, we understand that many of our students come to us with a wealth of knowledge and previous learning experience. We believe in honoring that expertise and experience. If you’ve already earned one or more business or management industry certifications, we may be able to offer you real course credit in exchange. These industry-leading and career-relevant certifications demonstrate your mastery of professional skills such as contracting and procurement, management, human resources, finance, and logistics. Many existing UMGC courses already teach these same skills, so why not get credit for the education you already have?
We recognize a large variety of certifications, including the Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C), Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and Certified Benefits Professional (CBP). The course credits you earn may be applied to several of our online learning programs, including our bachelor’s in human resource management, master’s in management: human resource management, and master’s in acquisition & contract management.

* A course equivalent listed with “TR” (e.g., ACCT 116TR or ACCT 316TR) represents a non-direct equivalency in the specific discipline indicated. "116TR" signifies lower-level credit (100-299), and"316TR" signifies upper-level credit (300-499).
◊ A course designated by the prefix "ELEC" stands for elective. Elective transfer credits can be transferred as "higher-level" (such as ELEC 316), or "lower-level" (such as ELEC 116).
Δ This course may be transferred in on your AAR/Transcript as "100-###" (such as CMIT 100-320). This signifies that the coursework taken is equivalent to CMIT 320 but had to be transferred in at a lower-level. In the case of CMIT 100-320, you may get credit for CMIT 320, unless your program requires a certain number of "higher-level" and "lower-level" credits.
