If you're a degree-seeking student or employee at a participating college in the California Community Colleges (CCC) system, or the spouse or legal dependent of an employee, you can save up to 25 percent on out-of-state tuition for most programs at University of Maryland Global Campus.* We offer a wide range of high-demand programs in business, information technology, cybersecurity, healthcare, and more. Plus, you can complete almost any UMGC program entirely online.

Plus, new students can save $50 when they apply to UMGC with our application fee waiver.

Transfer Made Easy

Thanks to our alliance with CCC, UMGC will be able to accept up to 70 credits from an approved community college within the CCC system. Plus, with rolling admissions and multiple start dates throughout the year, it’s never been easier to transfer your existing credits and begin your journey toward an undergraduate or graduate degree!

Tuition Discount Details

This discount will be applied to out-of-state tuition for eligible students in most programs.* This discount cannot be combined with certain scholarships or discount programs, including the Maryland Completion Scholarship, the Military New Graduate Student Savings Program, and the Alumni Succeed Again Scholarship. Discounted tuition rates may not fall below the standard in-state rate or any special tuition rate offered to eligible active-duty military servicemembers, their spouses, or dependents.

Whether you're focused on advancing your career or continuing your education, UMGC offers the ideal program to help you reach your goal. And when you apply through the CCC-UMGC education alliance, you'll be able to complete your program at a substantial savings.

Earn an associate degree: Complete your associate degree from an approved college within the CCC system.

Apply for admission to UMGC: Complete the online application for admission. It typically takes about 10 minutes. Please remember to select your previous institution of study.

Complete a tuition benefits verification form: This step is for CCC employees, spouses, and dependents only. Complete an employment/membership verification form for each term that you plan to enroll in courses. Be sure to fill out the proper form. UMGC has a separate verification form for employees/members and spouses/dependents.

Earn credit for your education and eligible experience: Submit your official transcripts from any previous institutions of higher education.

Register for classes: Once you're admitted to UMGC, you will receive a student ID (EmplID) so you can register for courses online. Check the schedule of classes to view courses, and then register for classes online using the MyUMGC Student Portal.

* The tuition discount will not be applied to the following graduate programs and related courses: Master of Business Administration; Master of Science in data analytics; Master of Science in digital forensics and cyber investigation; Master of Science in cybersecurity management and policy; Master of Science in cybersecurity technology; graduate certificates in business analytics, cybersecurity management and policy, cybersecurity technology, and digital forensics and cyber investigation; all doctoral programs; and select legacy programs. The tuition discount will apply beginning in the term in which you notify UMGC of your eligibility. Tuition discounts will not be applied to previous terms.

Additional discounts may be available for Federal employees and their spouses and eligible dependents. Undergraduate and standard graduate program tuition for students who meet the criteria for Maryland residency will be the applicable in-state rate. Tuition for active-duty military; members of the Selected Reserves, National Guard, and the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; and the spouses and dependents of these student groups will be the applicable military or specialty rate.
