Tuition and Billing for UMGC Smart Path Students
Under the UMGC Smart Path Program, your employer will cover a maximum of $5,250 per calendar year for undergraduate courses, calculated at a reduced tuition rate of $291 per credit. With this special tuition rate, this means you will be able to take up to 18 credits per year. You will be responsible for any charges not covered by your employer at the reduced UMGC Smart Path Program rate.
You must complete the application through the Edcor portal on your benefits site each term in order to receive the Smart Path rate of $291 per credit. Until your eligibility is verified, you will not receive the reduced tuition rate and will be solely responsible for any incurred tuition charges. See the Get Started & Register section for more information on how your eligibility can be verified.
Please note: Smart Path students who are utilizing tuition reimbursement will be responsible for tuition charges at the time of enrollment and will need to contact Edcor for reimbursement. If you're interested, you can get more information about UMGC's interest-free monthly payment plan options.
Special Discount Program
Even if you’re not eligible for the UMGC Smart Path Program, you, your spouse, and your legal dependents may be eligible to receive a discount of up to 25 percent on out-of-state tuition for all undergraduate and standard graduate programs thanks to UMGC’s alliance with Edcor.*
If you are enrolled in the UMGC Smart Path Program, your spouse, and your legal dependents may still take advantage of the up to 25 percent out-of-state tuition discount. If you are not eligible for or choose not to enroll in the UMGC Smart Path Program, you can still take advantage of the discount program for eligible employees. However, you cannot leave the Smart Path program and receive discounts within the same calendar year.
Tuition Discount Details
This discount will be applied to out-of-state tuition for eligible students in most programs.* This discount cannot be combined with certain scholarships or discount programs, including the Maryland Completion Scholarship, the Military New Graduate Student Savings Program, the Alumni Succeed Again Scholarship, and the discount for out-of-state community college alliances. Discounted tuition rates may not fall below the standard in-state rate or any special tuition rate offered to eligible active-duty military servicemembers, their spouses, or dependents.
