UMUC Okinawa Commencement held April 15

VIDEO OF OKINAWA CEREMONY

The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. at Yomitan Cultural Center, Yomitan, Okinawa. Guest seating will begin at 1:30 p.m. (graduates and participants are asked to arrive no later than 11 a.m.).

The ceremony will include a keynote address by Rushern L. Baker, III, county executive for Prince George's County, Maryland.

In addition to the ceremony itself, there will be a post-commencement reception held in Yomitan Cultural Center’s Chu Hall, beginning around 4 p.m.

James B. Cronin, UMUC Vice President and Director, Asia, will preside over the ceremony. The Stanley J. Drazek Teaching Excellence Award will be presented to Brian East, PhD, during the ceremony. The University of the Ryukyus Band will perform at the ceremony.

Due to the limited space at the Yomitan Cultural Center, we ask that each graduate brings a maximum of four guests to the ceremony and reception.
