Medal of Honor Recipient Capt. Florent Groberg (U.S. Army, Ret.), Maryland Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford, Former Lockheed Martin CEO Norman Augustine to Deliver Keynote Addresses

ADELPHI, Md. (May 2, 2017)—University of Maryland University College will celebrate its 2017 stateside commencement with three separate ceremonies at the Xfinity Center in College Park, Maryland, on May 13 and 14.  Approximately 3,000 of the 11,145 graduates worldwide in the Class of 2017 will attend the stateside ceremonies.

UMUC Stateside Commencement Ceremonies:

Saturday, May 13, 9:00 a.m., Xfinity Center, College Park

  • Keynote speaker: Maryland Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford

Saturday, May 13, 3:30 p.m., Xfinity Center, College Park

  • Keynote speaker: Capt. Florent Groberg (U.S. Army, Ret.), recipient of the Medal of Honor, the highest U.S. military decoration.

Sunday, May 14, 3:30 p.m., Xfinity Center, College Park

  • Keynote speaker: Norman Augustine, former CEO of Lockheed Martin

The three stateside ceremonies will be available for viewing live via webcasts. To access the webcasts visit www.umgc.edu/commencement.

UMUC also holds commencement ceremonies for military personnel and their dependents at installations around the world. Global ceremonies this year are at Tokyo, April 8; Okinawa, April 15; South Korea, April 22; Europe, April 29; and Guam, May 13.

Worldwide graduates represent all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia, and 26 countries and territories.
