Edward T. & Mary A. Conroy / Jean B. Cryor Memorial Scholarship Programs

Find out if you qualify for these scholarships provided by the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

University of Maryland Global Campus students are invited to apply for the Edward T. and Mary A. Conroy Memorial Scholarship Program & Jean B. Cryor Memorial Scholarship Program, provided by the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Eligible students can receive scholarship funding up to the full cost of tuition and fees, if the amount does not exceed the annual maximum award amount set by MHEC.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for this scholarship program, you must

Residency Requirements

You must have in-state residency status and be receiving the in-state tuition rate at the time of application, except for the following individuals:   

  • The child or stepchild of any state or local public safety employee killed in the line of duty
  • The surviving spouse of any state or local public safety employee killed in the line of duty
  • A disabled public safety employee
  • The child or stepchild of a disabled public safety employee who sustains an injury in the line of duty that renders the public safety employee 100% disabled
  • The surviving spouse of a disabled public safety employee who sustains an injury in the line of duty that renders the public safety employee 100% disabled
 

How to Apply for the Scholarship

  1. Complete the Conroy & Cryor Scholarship application.
  2. Download the completed application, physically sign it, scan it, and upload it using our secure document submission portal. Applications and supporting documentation cannot be sent via email or postal mail.
  3. Apply by July 15 if you are seeking the scholarship for the following fall term. All application forms and supporting documentation must be received by this date to be considered. No late submissions will be accepted. 
 

How to Continue Receiving Your Award

Once your application has been approved, you do not need to apply again in subsequent years. You may continue to receive your award for up to five years of full-time study (12+ credits per term), eight years of part-time study (6-11 credits per term), or a combination of both.

Important Note

This scholarship is non-refundable, meaning it can only be applied directly to your student account to cover tuition and fee costs. If you are receiving other non-refundable sources of financial aid, you may not be eligible to receive all or part of your Conroy & Cryor Scholarship award.
