In the Bachelor of Science in finance program at University of Maryland Global Campus, you'll develop the expertise to apply finance theory to real-world situations. Our program combines a foundation in the principles of business, economics, and accounting with an in-depth focus on the details of finance and financial management via intensive case studies. It can also serve as an important first step toward earning important certifications in the field.

At UMGC, you can also take a CFP Board-approved course of study that meets the criteria needed to fulfill the educational component required to sit the Certified Financial Planner exam. You do not have to be enrolled at UMGC to complete this course of study. It is available to any individual interested in earning CFP certification.

These requirements are for students who enroll in the 2020–2021 academic year. Read this year's program catalog to see our recommended course sequence for this program. For prior year academic requirements, visit our catalog archive.
