Whether you excel in your courses, participate in student organizations, or make a difference through community service, Merit Pages provides a way to showcase your hard work and dedication. You can create a Merit page at no cost and keep it even after you graduate from UMGC.

We know you’re going to do great things, and Merit is a virtual collection of your achievements. It helps potential employers learn about your accomplishments, showcasing your successes with official certificates that show that they're authentic and verified by UMGC.
When you’ve received an achievement, the announcement is sent to your preferred email address. You can then share your accomplishments with family, friends, and your network through social media channels, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and X. We’re incredibly proud of your hard work and love seeing family, friends, colleagues, and others celebrate our students’ wins with them.
Yes! Your page is created during your first course at UMGC and updates automatically as you earn achievements. You can personalize your page with a customized URL, photos, videos, a bio, other activities, and work experience.
Simply use the easy social share buttons when you receive an achievement.
You can also add your parents’ or support networks’ contact information into your Merit account, so they’ll be notified when you earn recognitions.
Merit Pages are created for students during their first course at UMGC. You’ll receive an email invitation to create your page. After that timeframe, you can open your page. Visit UMGC’s Merit Page and search for your name. Choose to claim your profile and enter your preferred email address on file with UMGC. Merit will send you a confirmation email, enabling you to claim your Merit page.
If you're having trouble finding your Merit Page, or if you believe you are missing an achievement on your Merit page, please email studentsfirst@umgc.edu.
Yes. You are not obligated or required to open a Merit page. To opt-out, simply click the opt-out button at the very bottom of the email from Merit or reply to the email and ask to be removed.
